The EWG Ethics and OR organizes for the 31st time a Satellite Event/ State of the Art workshop.
We invite the chairs and their fellow colleagues of EWG groups to reflect on adjacent subjects such as decision support, societal complexity, sustainable development and developing countries, to discuss and give presentations. In this way we inform each other on recent developments and questions in our fields and as we may have to change, to discuss and to connect.

Panel Debate-Discussion "CAN AGE BE A BARRIER TO AN ACADEMIC CAREER ?"

Saturday afternoon 30 JUNE 13:00 – 14:00
Location: EURO Conference venue, Copenhagen Denmark, building 101 room M2

Sensitive issues such as academic career problems and the stability of employment relationships concerning age are becoming topical in many European countries. However, they are not sufficiently highlighted in academia, and many academics are unaware of the actual situation and do not try to influence the relevant decisions made in universities.
Social activism, research and a broad and multifaceted debate are needed to find a strategy for managing older researchers and teaching staff in universities and research institutes that ensures the effective development of economic, social, and intellectual capital and is in line with the constitutional rule of law.
Meeting pursues bring together those who are looking for ways to find the OR-based solution.
The panelists are Leonidas Sakalauskas (Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania) and
Dorien DeTombe (University of Sumatera Utara & Netherlands).
Lithuanian ORS, EWG on OR and Ethics, EWG for OR and Development support the discussion.
Join the EURO Satellite Event/ Discussion „Can age be a barrier to an academic career ?“ for free.
